The goosebumps on my skin is clearly not enough to demonstrate the way I felt about Chris Brown's tribute to Michael Jackson. It was by far the BEST tribute I seen to him thus far. Chris Brown did an excellent job of bringing to life the performer that we all loved in Michael Jackson. It was so nice to finally see him do a tribute the RIGHT way. Seeing as though he wasn't allowed to do it last year the wait was worth it. You can definitely feel his emotions in the ending, that song is just one of Michael songs that he holds close to his heart. Congrats Chris, you made Michael proud.

Unrest in Jamaica

Kingston, Jamaica (CNN) -- Violence in Jamaica surrounding the planned extradition to the U.S. of a suspected drug kingpin continued Monday, with shots fired at police officers as they sought to clear roads in Kingston, police said.

Residents have blocked roads, primarily in West Kingston, to restrict access to police and military.

The violence then spread about 20 minutes outside the capital to Spanish Town, where armed thugs blocked a major road and a bridge that serves as a link between Montego Bay and Kingston, police said.

Looting occurred in downtown Kingston.

There were no immediate reports of casualties Monday, but two police officers were killed and six others were wounded in a shooting late Sunday near Norman Manley International Airport outside Kingston, police said.

The airport's main entrance remained open, and flights were arriving and departing on schedule, said Paul Hall, senior vice president for operations at the Airports Authority of Jamaica.

The unrest revolves around U.S. attempts to extradite suspected drug kingpin Christopher "Dudus" Coke, who was charged last year in federal court with conspiracy to distribute marijuana and cocaine and with conspiracy to traffic in firearms illegally.

Coke's whereabouts were not made public.

His attorneys were to meet with the charge d'affaires officer at the U.S. Embassy in Kingston.

Coke's attorney Don Foote said he will listen to U.S. authorities but insisted his client should face any charges in Jamaican courts.

On Friday, Jamaican Prime Minister Bruce Golding said citizens should "allow the courts to deal with the extradition matter," the state-run Jamaica Information Service reported.

In a statement Sunday afternoon, Golding announced an emergency meeting of his Cabinet in response to the heavy gunfire and blockades, the Jamaica Information Service said.

A state of emergency extended to the St. Andrew section of Kingston, according to the information agency.

The U.S. State Department is "monitoring the situation closely," a spokesman said Sunday evening.

Coke was charged in August 2009 by the U.S. attorney's office in New York, which accused him of leading an international criminal syndicate known as the "Shower Posse."

"At Coke's direction and under his protection, members of his criminal organization sell marijuana and crack cocaine in the New York area and elsewhere, and send the narcotics proceeds back to Coke and his co-conspirators," the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency said in a release accompanying the charges.

"Coke and his co-conspirators also arm their organization with illegally trafficked firearms," the DEA said in a statement at the time.

Coke is on the Justice Department's list of Consolidated Priority Organization Targets, which the department says "includes the world's most dangerous narcotics kingpins."

The State Department issued a travel alert for Jamaica on Friday.

Lupe Fiasco's Novel.

Arguably one of the best storytellers of our generation, Lupe Fiasco has decided to further his love of storytelling and write a book. In a interview with the New Zealand 3News, Lupe told reporters that "Hip-Hop has been an extension of me telling stories so it’s kind of like me putting it in a more traditional form as far as a book". Theres no word yet on when the novel will be released, however I am excited to see what Lupe has in store for his fans. He has yet to fail me as an artist so lets see :)

Soul Singer, Teddy Pendergrass died Wednesday January 14th from colon cancer at the age of 59 in a Philadelphia hospital where he has been hospitalized for month. Teddy Pendergrass was one of the most electric and successful figures in music until a fatal car crash, 28 years ago left him paralyzed from the waist down. Mark McGwire admits he uses STEROIDS

Mark McGwire finally comes clean in a statement to the Associated Press stating that he used steriods on and off for about a decade. Futhermore, he admitted to using steriods in 1998 when he broke baseball's home run record.

"It's very emotional, it's telling family members, friends and coaches, you know, it's former teammates to try to get ahold of, you know, that I'm coming clean and being honest," he said during a 20-minute telephone interview, his voice repeatedly cracking. "It's the first time they've ever heard me, you know, talk about this. I hid it from everybody." - Mark McGwire

McGwire has also stated that he has used Human Growth Hormone. He called his decision to use steroids "foolish". McGwire's admittance of his steroid use only calls into question whether or not Sammy Sosa, who finished with 66 homers, is also using steroids. I guess will just wait for Sammy to come clean too.

Michael Jackson's death certificate changed to say Homicide

A copy of Michael Jackson's official death certificate has been leaked and changes to the certificate includes "Homicide" and "Intravenous Injection by another". The world was shocked when Michael Joseph Jackson was pronounced dead on June 25, 2009 and reports surfaced that maybe it was the physician's fault. Jackson's physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, is building a criminal defense team although no charges have been issued against him. Being prepared can't hurt. I can only say I wouldn't want to be the person in jail known for killing Michael Jackson. I wonder how his children are doing. I hope his father isn't allowed around them. He's too much for my soul.

Lady Gaga returns to Fashion Week!

On February 11th Fashion week will begin in New York City and show-stopper Lady Gaga will be returning to perform. Personally I think Lady Gaga is crazy! But her dramatic fashion sense and chart topping music only makes her a perfect pick to take the stage at Fashion Week. She will open up on February 10th, with a performance at amfAR's annual New York gala fund-raiser at Cipriani 42nd Street. Of Course everyone expected Lady Gaga to be invited back, I mean she did perform at Marc Jacob/Visionaries party last season & KILLED it (from what i'm hearing). Im sure her performance on Fashion will be no less memorable.

H&M Public Relations NIGHTMARE!

While on the verge of Fashion Week in New York City the big news seems to be discarding of clothes by H&M's Heralds Square Location. H&M allegedly discards garbage bags filled with unsold clothing which has been destroyed with holes or slashes on a regular basis, according to The New York Times. "At the back entrance on 35th Street, awaiting trash haulers, were bags of garments that appear to have never been worn. And to make sure that they never would be worn or sold, someone had slashed most of them with box cutters or razors, a familiar sight outside H&M's back door," reports the paper.

With so many people homeless and so many foundations working towards helping them, why doesnt a big corporation like H&M have a policy on donating their clothes? Whatever the case, H&M has issued a statement of apology which can be seen everywhere. Im kinda sick of seing their apology honestly. But here it goes again, We feel strongly about taking responsibility for our operations on the store level, and how that affects people and the environment. We look at what type of light bulbs and garbage bags we are using. And we donate garments to Gifts in Kind International,UNHCR, Caritas, The Red Cross, and The Helping Hands. Over half a million garments were donated in 2009 globally."

Faux Fur & Leather Gloves

So apparently there's a new trend in furs that doesn't have People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) screaming from the top of their lungs... its called Faux Furs. I absolutely loveee it. They are gorgeous with jeans and even sexier with a little dress and the perfect shoes to match.

Well this is my first blog and my first post on said blog! I'm kind of excited but then again confused im not really sure what i'm supposed to do on my first blog, so I guess i'll be cliche and introduce myself. The name is Nicole mostly known as Princess. I currently attend Temple University in Philadelphia therefore for the time being I reside there. Originally I'm from Queens New York and YES I Love it!!
